News | No Man's Sky Update Endurance Out Now

Hello Games has unveiled a new update for No Man's Sky called Endurance.

The update is mainly about the cargo ships that were added with one of the first No Man’s Sky updates. With Endurance, these cargo ships are being overhauled. Players can customize much more, including walkways outside the ships, windows to stare into space, and an improved bridge that allows planets to be scanned and analyzed from space. More crew members can also be added.

In addition, the update should adapt asteroids – they now come in many different shapes and can appear in groups of thousands at a time. There are also new black holes and space storms to watch.

The update also adds a new limited-time expedition in the form of Polestar, as well as some Nexus missions that focus on combat.

The update is available now on consoles and PC and is also part of the Switch version that will be released on October 7. The full patch notes can be found here.

News | Rockstar stops major updates Red Dead Online

Rockstar stops major updates for Red Dead Online. The developer wants to focus more on the development of the new Grand Theft Auto.

Rockstar reports this on their official website. “Over the past few years, we have steadily moved more and more development resources into the new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series,” the developer writes. “More than ever, we understand that we need to exceed player expectations and make sure the next installment is possible, so we’re making some changes to how we support Red Dead Online.”

Going forward, Rockstar will build on pre-existing modes in Red Dead Online rather than adding new modes and major updates. So players don’t have to expect big themed events anymore. New Telegram Missions will be added later this year. Rockstar will continue to support the game with patches and seasonal events.

Rockstar announced earlier this year that the new game in the Grand Theft Auto series is officially in development. “With GTAV’s unprecedented popularity, we know that many of you are curious about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series. With every new project we start, our goal is to improve significantly compared to what we’ve delivered before. We are pleased to now officially confirm that active development for the next installment in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway,” the developer said in a press release.

News | Horizon Forbidden West Patch Adds VRR And 120Hz Mode

A new update to Horizon Forbidden West has been added that includes support for variable refresh rate (VRR) monitors.

The brand new patch is patch 1.17. New is the variable refresh rate support; With VRR, the game’s frames per second are synchronized with the frames per second that the monitor can display, which in theory should reduce the number of dips in framerate and other graphical issues. It should also improve the dynamic resolution at 60hz.

An ‘HFR’ (high refresh rate) mode has also been added for 120 Hz monitors, which aims for a refresh rate of between 60 Hz and 120 Hz. There’s also a ‘Balanced’ mode, which targets 40hz for monitors that support that.

The patch, available for download on both PS4 and PS5, further improves a range of issues, including crashes. Also several bugs in some main and side missions have been fixed, for example the failure to update the objectives of the missions. Finally, fixes for world activities, the in-game machines, weapons, the user interface and localization issues have been made.

News | Deathloop update adds photo mode and accessibility options

Game Update 3 is now available for Deathloop, adding a photo mode and accessibility options to the game.

Photo mode includes a variety of camera customization options to capture photos in Blackreef at any time.

There are also new accessibility options so that more people can enjoy Deathloop. This provides, among other things, the possibility to lower or increase the difficulty and to make the gameplay faster or slower. The game’s user interface can now also be customized.

Deathloop was released last year for PlayStation 5 and PC. In the game, which is developed by Arkane, players arrive at a lawless island called Blackreef. They are caught in a kind of loop where the day repeats itself, unless one kills the eight targets in the correct order in one day. The goal is to find the targets, keep the order and thereby break the loop.

The game received an 8.5 on GamersInfuzed: “Deathloop is a bizarre fever dream that is actually too fun to wake up from. An absurd, retrofuturistic murder mystery in which you don’t solve the murders, but you have to commit it.

News | No Man's Sky Update Outlaws Coming Today

The Outlaws update will be added to No Man's Sky today. This is now the nineteenth update of the game.

Hello Games’ Sean Murray reports this via the PlayStation Blog. The Outlaws update will be released simultaneously for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR. At the heart of the update are “smuggling”, improved space combat, a “squadron” that the player can recruit himself, a new expedition and the first new starship in two years.

In Outlaws, pirates have taken over several settlements in the No Man’s Sky universe, from where they smuggle wax and attack nearby planets and settlements. Players can take on them in the enhanced space battles, or choose to help them. To make smuggling a little easier, all spaceships now have a “high-capacity cargo inventory”.

Players are no longer alone as they can create their own group of pilots to aid in the battles in space. The new ship is one of the Solar class, and is mainly found in the pirate-populated parts of the universe. The number of ships players can house has also been increased from six to nine.

The space battles have been improved and can now also take place within a planet’s atmosphere. The ships must be better controlled, weapons have new visual effects, enemy ships get shields and the weapon selection has been deepened. For example, some weapons get new side effects, such as slowing down enemy ships or deactivating the shields.

News | A big Assassin's Creed Valhalla patch comes out on Tuesday

Ubisoft details a major update for Assassin's Creed Valhalla due out next Tuesday.

Update 1.5.0 is 9 to 16 GB in size , depending on the platform,  and contains a host of bug fixes, including a bug that made it impossible to complete the A Brewing Storm quest. Stealth gameplay improvements have also been made; Among other things, enemies stay on their guard longer when Eivor ducks, and they respond better to his whistle.

Finally, update 1.5.0 adds more controller support to the PC version (Nintendo Switch Pro and Stadia), and prepares the game for the arrival of the Dawn of Ragnarök expansion. In that DLC, which according to Ubisoft contains about 35 hours of content, players take on the role of Odin as he goes in search of the dwarf world Svartalfheim.
