News | Current-gen upgrade Fallout 4 postponed until next year

The promised current-gen upgrade for Fallout 4 won't be released until sometime in 2024.

Bethesda has announced this. The upgrade was initially planned for release this year. “Thank you for your patience as we work on the upgrade for Fallout 4. We know you’re looking forward to it – so are we! But we need a little more time and look forward to a return to the Commonwealth in 2024.”

The upgrade was announced last year in conjunction with the franchise’s twenty-fifth anniversary. This is a free upgrade for current owners of the game and will be available on PC, Xbox Series and PlayStation 5.

The upgrade will add performance mode options, higher frame rates and support for 4K resolution. Various bugs also need to be fixed and it contains more content for the Creation Club.

News | Update that adds New Game Plus to Assassin's Creed: Mirage is available now

Update 1.0.6, which adds, among other things, a New Game Plus mode to Assassin's Creed: Mirage, has been released.

The update has been available for download since 1:00 PM Dutch time. This means that players can now start the story again with the progress and equipment they have made.

Furthermore, the update adds improvements to parkouring. Main character Basim can bridge greater distances after the update. Finally, the update fixes several smaller issues, including those affecting the graphics, audio and UI.

A permadeath mode was also initially planned for the game. In it, players have to start the game all over again if they die. However, that option has been postponed to early 2024. There is no exact release date yet.

News | Baldur's Gate 3 patch lets players customize character appearances

Patch 3 for Baldur's Gate 3 has just been released. This makes it possible, among other things, to adjust the appearance of characters. Patch 3 also adds Mac support.

Players can now find a magic mirror in the camp that allows them to change their appearance as often as they like. It’s about appearance, voice and pronouns. Origin characters cannot be customized, nor can appearances created through gameplay – for example the loss of an eye.

The patch also adds support for the game on Mac, as well as numerous improvements and other tweaks. All changes can be found in the patch notes. Patch 3 was actually supposed to be released yesterday, but was delayed by a day.

Larian recently announced that it is considering DLC for the game. Larian is also working on the next game, although nothing is known about that yet.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available now for PlayStation 5 and PC, and will be coming to Xbox Series later this year.

News | Update 2.0 for Cyberpunk 2077 now available

The free update 2.0 for Cyberpunk 2077 rolled out yesterday.

CD Projekt Red has published the patch notes on the game’s official website. Many changes that were announced during previous presentations can be read again.

For example, the update adjusts the police system, shooting can be done from a vehicle, tires can be punctured, the AI of enemies and NPCs has been improved, there are new perks to unlock and various other improvements and bug fixes are implemented.

CD Projekt Red recommends that players start a new game to get the best experience with the various improvements being made. The system requirements of the PC version have also been adjusted. The update is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC.

As previously announced, the paid expansion Phantom Liberty will be released on September 26 for the PS5, Xbox Series and PC versions of the game. Players explore the new Dogtown area, with new missions and dynamic events, new clothing, weapons and cyberware.

News | First major update for Baldur's Gate 3 released

Larian has released the first major patch for the PC version of Baldur's Gate 3.

The game has already received a number of hotfixes, but this is the first major update planned. This fixes more than a thousand bugs and also improves the balance of the game. Larian has also announced that 200 million hours have been put into the game by players since the game was released.

Baldur’s Gate 3 was released on PC earlier this month. It was previously announced that the PlayStation 5 version of Baldur’s Gate 3 will be released on September 6. There were rumors that the Xbox Series version would not be released until 2024, but it was announced this week that the game will still be released this year. The Series S version does lack split-screen co-op.

News | Update brings a lot of changes to Sons of the Forest

Patch 7 for Sons of the Forest adds a lot of new things to the survival game.

“This patch adds a new final boss and a new cutscene to close the game,” developer Endnight Games writes on Steam. In addition, the update adds golf carts, a new weapon and frogs. Players can also cut off the heads of dead animals to use as decoration and improvements are made to the building system. All changes can be read here.

Sons of the Forest is a sequel to The Forest. Players will once again explore an eerie forest in this survival game, while keeping an eye out for mutated creatures and cannibals.

The game became available in Early Access in February.

News | God of War Ragnarök Update Adds New Game Plus Among Other Features

A free update for God of War Ragnarök has been released that includes a New Game Plus mode.

The mode allows people who have completed the game to start the game over again, but take their unlocked equipment, weapons and skills with them. The level cap also goes up. The Sonic and Hex arrows must be unlocked again.

There’s also new gear to unlock, including the Armor of the Black Bear, the cloak Kratos dons at the start of the game and has been requested by fans since release. In addition, there is the Spartan Armor, as well as clothing based on Zeus and Ares. Thirteen existing equipments have also been adapted with new colors and combinations. There are also more options in the Nilfheim Arena, some endgame bosses and enemies have been adjusted and there are new Enchantments. The game can now also be played in black and white.

News | Final content update for Marvel's Avengers released

Crystal Dynamics has released the latest content update for Marvel's Avengers.

The update makes “almost all” cosmetic items free. It involves outfits, emotes, takedowns, and name tags. All items unlocked through the campaign or purchased through the Cosmetic Vendor still need to be unlocked in the same way.

In addition, all premium currency of players is converted into in-game materials. All Hero’s Catalysts and Fragment Extractors have been removed. Instead, there is permanent 1.5x multiplayer on earned Fragments and XP.

Finally, those who unlock at least one Trophy of Achievement in-game before April 1 will receive a special Iron Man Variable Threat Response Battle Suit outfit. Most of the other changes revolve around bug fixes, according to the patch notes.

Earlier, the developer already announced that this latest update is due, because support for the game will officially end on September 30. After that, the game can still be played via single player and multiplayer, but problems that occur in the game may not be solved anymore.

News | Lion King update coming to Disney Dreamlight Valley on April 5

Update 4 for Disney Dreamlight Valley will be released on April 5, adding content based on The Lion King, among other things.

Gameloft hasn’t yet published a complete list of the content, but some things were shown during a Nintendo Direct last February. It is clear that The Lion King kingdom will be added to the game, as well as characters Simba and Nala.

It will be the sixth kingdom in Dreamlight Valley after the worlds of Toy Story, Frozen, Wall-E, Moana, and Ratatouille. The addition of Simba and Nala brings the game to a total of twenty-five playable characters. It remains to be seen what other content will be added via the update.

In the free-to-play Disney Dreamlight Valley, players with their own avatar visit a village destroyed by a mysterious event called The Forgetting. Players must rebuild this village according to their own taste and unravel the mystery behind this event. Ties are also created with various well-known Disney and Pixar characters.

The game is playable on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
