As of today, a new, free update for Outriders is available.

Square Enix has announced that. The new update is called New Horizon. This includes four new Expeditions, a new transmog system, and removes timers from Expedition missions. Various elements of the game are also being modified. According to developer People Can Fly, this should greatly improve the overall experience. More information can be found here.

A “full expansion” should be released sometime in 2022. This one will be called Worldslayer. A teaser of it was shown below along with footage from the update, but the full reveal won’t be until next spring.

The shooter was released in April this year on PC, Xbox and PlayStation consoles, and then also appeared on Xbox Game Pass for Xbox consoles. Later, the game also came on Game Pass for PC. In Outriders, players can create their own ‘Outrider’ and search for the source of a mysterious signal. In total, the game can be played with three players at the same time.

News | Blizzard Unveils Last Major Update for World of Warcraft Shadowlands

Blizzard has announced the last major content update for World of Warcraft Shadowlands.

Update 9.2 is called Eternity’s End and should be released soon, although an exact release date is not known. The update should bring the story of the WoW expansion to a conclusion.

Blizzard hints at a new zone called Zereth Mortis in the video below. This is home to the First Ones, the “mysterious architects of the Shadowlands’ afterlife”. The update also includes a new raid, called Sepulcher of the First ones. In this, players end up fighting the Jailer. The large dungeon Tazavesh is split in two. Both will be available on heroic and Mythic+.

These are turbulent times for World of Warcraft and Blizzard. The company is being sued along with Activision for toxic work behavior and several employees have resigned or been fired. This month, Jen Oneal, who had been part-head of Blizzard for just three months, left. She took over from Mike Ybarra, who previously headed the publisher. In addition, the amount of monthly players of Blizzard games continues to decrease, although no precise player numbers of World of Warcraft are known.

News | New-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 postponed to 2022

The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series updates for Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have been delayed to 2022.

Developer CD Projekt Red announced this yesterday. The team that oversees the development of both updates has recommended that the releases be postponed. “We apologize for the long wait, but we want to make sure it’s done right.”

The update for Cyberpunk 2077 will now be released sometime in Q1 2022, while the update for The Witcher 3 will be released sometime in Q2 2022. Both updates, which make the games look better and run on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, were actually planned for the end of this year.

The delay of the The Witcher 3 update is particularly surprising: earlier this week it appeared that PEGI had provided the new-gen version of the game with an age rating, which led many people to assume that the update was imminent.

News | First major Deathloop update improves NPCs and framerate

Bethesda and Arkane Studios have released the first major update for Deathloop.

In Deathloop, players arrive at a lawless island called Blackreef. They are caught in a kind of loop where the day repeats itself, unless one kills the eight targets in the correct order in one day. The goal is to find the targets, keep the order and thereby break the loop. Deathloop is available for PlayStation 5 and PC.

News | Free content update for Grounded coming

A major, free content update for Grounded will be released on October 20.

The update, called Hot and Hazy, adds a large Crab Sandbox area, among other things. This toy sandbox contains many buried treasures, but at the same time is dangerous for players. For example, care should be taken to stay in the shade enough – walking in direct sunlight for a long time is harmful.

Other new areas include a picnic table and a large pile of trash. The update also includes a new anthill with black ants, which can be traversed as a dungeon, as well as an upgrade to The Haze, where players will now encounter new enemies and fungi.

Hot and Hazy also adds a new upgrade system for stats and weapons. Players can collect so-called Milk Molars and give them to their robot friend BURG.L to improve their personal or party stats. Weapons can be customized with different candies. Player gear will be categorized as light, medium, and heavy after the update.

Grounded was released in July 2020 and is developed by Obsidian who are best known for its RPGs such as Outer Worlds and Fallout: New Vegas. The multiplayer game lets players control shriveled children exploring their yard. In addition to multiplayer action, crafting is an important part of the game. Grounded is available on PC, Xbox Series X and S, and Xbox One. The game is also on Game Pass.

News | Update PS4™ and PS5™ system software using Safe Mode

Download the system software update on the console

If you can access the Home screen but the system software update failed, connect the PlayStation console to your router with a LAN cable and follow the steps below:

PS5: Updating System Software
– Go to “Settings” > “System” > “System Software” > “System Software Update.”
– Select “Update the system software.”

Updating the PlayStation system software manually from a USB drive

Manual Update Requirements

  • Wireless DualSense controller (PS5) or DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller (PS5/PS4) and a USB cable
  • PC or Mac computer with internet connection
  • USB storage device in FAT32 format, such as a USB drive (with approximately 460 MB of free space).

PS5: Manually update the system software

On a PC or Mac, create a folder called “PS5” on a USB drive in FAT32 format. In this folder, create another folder called ‘UPDATE’.

Go to the PS5 system software update page and select the “Update the system software” section. Download the update file and save it in the ‘UPDATE’ folder. Save the file as ‘PS5UPDATE.PUP’.

Connect the USB drive containing the file to the PS5 console.

Start the PS5™ console in Safe Mode: press and hold the power button and release after the second beep.

Select option 3 of the Safe Mode: Update the system software.

Select Update from USB storage device > OK.

If your PS5 console doesn’t recognize the update file, make sure the folder names and file name are correct. Enter the folder names and file name in capital letters.

PS4: Manually update the system software

Using a PC or Mac, create a folder on the USB in FAT32 format called ‘PS4’. In this folder, create another folder called ‘UPDATE’.

Go to the PS4 system software update page and select the “Update the system software” section. Download the update file and save it in the ‘UPDATE’ folder. Save the file as ‘PS4UPDATE.PUP’

Connect the USB drive containing the system update file to the PS4 console. If you get the following error: ‘SU-41350-3’, the PUP file was renamed because the same file was downloaded multiple times. Check the download location on your PC or Mac and remove all previous versions. Make sure the current file has the following name: PS4UPDATE.PUP

Start the PS4 console in Safe Mode: Press and hold the Power button and release after the second beep.

Select option 3 of the Safe Mode: Update the system software.

Select Update from USB storage device > OK.

My manual PlayStation system software update failed. What should I do?

If your console does not recognize the update file, check that the USB stick is in FAT32 format and that the folder and file names are correct. Enter the folder and file names in single-byte characters and use capital letters.

If this process fails, you may need to reinstall the system software. This process is the same as factory reset and returns the console to its original state.

News | PS5 update for God of War is out today

A PlayStation 5 patch for the PS4 game God of War will be released later today.

According to developer Sony Santa Monica, the free patch replaces the current graphics mode in the game with a “new default setting that allows PS5 players to experience both the best performance and resolution.”

While players on PlayStation 4 can choose between graphics and resolution, on PS5 there is no need to make a choice after the patch. The game then always runs in 60 frames per second and a resolution of 4K checkerboard (at 2160p).

God of War appeared in 2018 and places Kratos in a Norwegian setting with his son. The game is available for free to all PlayStation 5 gamers with a PlayStation Plus subscription through the PlayStation Plus Collection. Sony Santa Monica, meanwhile, is working on a sequel, God of War: Ragnarok. According to a trailer released last year, that game should be released this year, although no further details have been announced since that initial announcement.

News | PlayStation app gets major update

The PlayStation app has received a major update. The redesigned app should provide a better experience for users with both the PlayStation 4 and the upcoming PlayStation 5.

The new PS App is available for iOS (12.2 or newer) and Android (6.0 or newer) and includes a number of new features. Of course, the user interface has also been refreshed. News | Ghost of Tsushima: Legends and New Game + are coming October 16th

The previously announced Legends cooperative multiplayer mode for Ghost of Tsushima will be released on October 16. Developer Sucker Punch has announced this via the PlayStation Blog.

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends is a free update to the PS4-exclusive game, released earlier this year. In the new mode, you can compete with friends. There are story missions for two players, or survival missions for groups of four. Another raid will be added later this year.

Players must first download version 1.1 of the game, then they can find the free update on PlayStation Store. A PlayStation Plus subscription is required to play with others online. You can start Legends by talking to the new character Gyozen the Storyteller in-game, or by launching it directly from the main menu.

In addition to the new game mode, other updates are also being made for the game. For example, New Game + is added, which allows you to restart the game after you finish it. You then keep all earned upgrades, but the difficulty level is also increased (although you can adjust it manually).

Furthermore, new options are added to the photo mode and it becomes easier to switch between different sets of gear and talismans.
