News | Infinity Ward reveals Modern Warfare 2 first season details

Developer Infinity Ward has revealed all the details of the first season of Modern Warfare 2 in a blog post.

The first season of Modern Warfare 2 introduces two new maps from 2019’s Modern Warfare, Shoot House and Shipment. The former will be available at the launch of season one, while Shipment will be added later in the season. Shipment also takes place on another ship and the developer hints that players can also drown in this version.

The update also includes a number of new Special Ops missions. One of these missions, High Ground, is immediately playable and divides players into two teams. One player controls an attack helicopter, while the other player tries to survive on the ground with his support from the air. The first Raid will also be added during the season, a new type of mission where three players will be presented with different gameplay elements.

A Tier 1 playlist will also be added to the game at the start of Season One. Players have less life points in this mode and can also deal damage to their own teammates. There will also be a new battle pass where players can choose what they want to unlock first using tokens.

Additionally, Season One includes four new weapons, also from Modern Warfare 2. The Victus XMR Sniper Rifle, BAS-P SMG, Chimera Assault Rifle, and M13B Assault Rifle. There are also six new operators: Zeus, Klaus, Gaz and the football players Neymar, Pogba and Messi.

Season One of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be playable on November 16 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC
