News | Tom Clancy's The Division 3 officially announced

Ubisoft has announced that it will be developing Tom Clancy's The Division 3.

The company announced in a message on its website that Julian Gerighty, the current creative director of Star Wars Outlaws, will take on the role of executive producer of The Division series after the release of that game.

The article then mentions that The Division 3 is one of the projects he will be overseeing. Developer Massive Entertainment, which also made the previous The Division games and is currently working on Star Wars Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, is looking for a team to develop The Division 3.

“As executive producer, Julian Gerighty will oversee all The Division games and products, including Tom Clancy’s The Division 3, development of which is led by Massive Entertainment – they are actively building a team for the game. In his new role, Julian takes the many disconnected elements of The Division brand into a cohesive direction.”

There are no images of The Division 3 yet – given the words Ubisoft is using, it’s likely the game is still in an extremely early stage of development, if development has even begun. Meanwhile, the company is also working on the upcoming free-to-play mobile game Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence and the free-to-play spin-off for consoles and PC The Division Heartland.

News | Ninth Season and New Mode for The Division 2 Revealed

Ubisoft has revealed Season 9 for Tom Clancy's The Division 2. This includes a new game mode. The new content will be available this Thursday.

Season 9 starts next Thursday and is called Hidden Alliance. The season adds a big new boss named Captain Lewis. Players must kill four mini bosses before taking on Lewis to stop the True Sons gang from taking over Washington DC.

The new season also introduces a completely new mode called Countdown. Two teams consisting of four players are given fifteen minutes to stabilize a nuclear power plant. Teams start at different places in the level and must work together to overcome this challenge.

Ubisoft has also announced that a season 10 and 11 should be released this year. The company previously announced that it is working on a free-to-play game in the series called The Division: Heartland, but almost nothing is known about it yet. It is clear, however, that it must retain known elements from series. In this way the third person view is preserved. Also, players can play alone or with up to three other gamers.

Those interested in trying out The Division 2 can play the game for free this Friday through Sunday on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, Epic Games Store, and Ubisoft Connect.

News | New The Division 2 Mode Lets Players Take Over Nuclear Power Plant

A new mode for Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is rolling out in which players must try to get a nuclear power plant out of the hands of the enemy. The new mode has been in development since early 2021

The new mode is called Countdown, is suitable for eight players and has been added to the game without any promotion. The current situation in Ukraine and in particular the fighting around the Chernobyl nuclear power plant seems to have influenced Ubisoft’s choice not to promote it.

Ubisoft informed Kotaku in a statement that the mode had been in development since early 2021. “Like the main game, the mode is fictional and has nothing to do with current events.”

Countdown can now be played via The Division 2’s public test servers. It is not yet known when the mode will be available to everyone.

News | The Division 2 gets a winter wonder update

The Division 2 gets a winter update that adds snowballs and Christmas hats to the lootshooter.

Things can get tough in The Division 2, but Christmas will be celebrated in Washington D.C. Ubisoft has announced that there’s a winter update on the way for the game. In addition, a new weapon is introduced called The Sleigher, which is more or less a grenade launcher. However, this gun does not use grenades but snowballs.

A new, extremely difficult game mode is added to the apocalyptic game called Permadeath. This mode is intended for seasoned Division 2 players, the fact is that when players die in this mode, they immediately lose all shoots and progression and can start again. In addition, players cannot use the Stash in Permadeath mode.

Everyone who plays the new mode is placed in the same server. This way it is as fair as possible and players are more likely to survive. Players who manage to reach level 2 are rewarded with a special YOLO hat. However, the developer indicates that mode is not yet perfect and that it’s still being worked on.

“A lot still needs to be done, but the developers are convinced that the mode adds something to the game, which is why we are already releasing the beta version. Not everything that the developers had in mind was already incorporated in the beta, moreover there are more plans that have not yet been added, “reports the team of The Division 2.

The update can be downloaded from December 10, click here for all details.
