News | Info and release date of new Tales from the Borderlands leaked
The release date and the first information, including the name of the new Tales from the Borderlands game, have been leaked via Amazon.
The game has since been removed from Amazon again, but VGC has copied the relevant information before that time. According to the web store, the game is called New Tales from the Borderlands and it will be released on October 21 this year on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. A PC version is not mentioned, but that is probably because that version only comes out digitally.
According to the description, in the metropolis of Promethea with new characters Anu, Octavio and Fran, players take on ruthless corporate overlords during the worst day of their lives. “Help these three fine losers change (and maybe even save) the world!” Box art can be viewed below.
In April, Gearbox already announced that a new Tales from the Borderlands was in development. The company then announced that more information would follow this summer. More may be announced during Gamescom and Amazon released information a little too early.
The first Tales of the Borderlands was released in 2014 and was still being developed by Telltale Games. In November 2018, that studio went bankrupt. The game was based on Borderlands 2 and took players through the story in five episodes. It is not yet known what the new game will be about.

Gearbox has announced that it is working on a new Tales from the Borderlands. The game is scheduled for release in 2022. Unfortunately this time Tales without Telltale.
That was revealed during the Gearbox presentation at Pax East in Boston. The game is published by 2K and developed by Gearbox. This project has been secretly worked on for years. In the game, players get to work with new characters and new stories.
