In addition to being able to use the Leviathan Axe, Blades of Chaos and Guardian Shield, Kratos also gains new combat abilities.

News | Sony is experimenting with 'Game Trials' feature on PlayStation 5

Sony is experimenting with a new 'Game Trials' option on PlayStation 5.

This basically means that players can try out a PS5 game for free before potentially purchasing the game. So, in fact, it’s about demos, but instead of a specific area, you can try the entire game for a certain period of time. That time expires as soon as the download of the trial is turned on, and not as soon as you start playing. The download of the game is therefore part of the maximum playing time.

For now, Game Trials are only available in the UK and include Sackboy: A Big Adventure and Death Stranding: Director’s Cut. The latter game has a maximum time of six hours, and Sackboy a maximum time of five hours.

All progress made and Trophies from the Trails versions will be carried over to the final game if one decides to purchase the game. Apparently the Trials disappear again on October 28th. It is not known whether they will also be available in the Netherlands.

The company did so during the PlayStation Showcase tonight. The new God of War was already announced last year through a teaser. Then 2021 was mentioned as the release year in the teaser, but earlier this year Sony already indicated that the game would only be released in 2022.

The trailer shows various locations in the game. Kratos and his son Atreus head out again and can visit all nine realms instead of the six from the previous God of War. The duo is looking for the Norse god of war, Tyr.

God of War: Ragnarok is the direct sequel to the 2018 God of War. In it, Kratos does not compete against the Greek gods, but against the gods from Norse mythologies. In doing so, he uses a special ax that returns to him after throwing it at enemies or objects. The game was particularly well received by the worldwide press and gamers.

News | Sony is considering postponing Horizon Forbidden West to 2022

Sony may consider delaying Horizon Forbidden West to 2022.

That’s what journalist Jeff Grubb claims in a new episode of the paid Giant Bomb Show. He would have heard from a source that it is likely that Sony will postpone the game to next year. “I’m not sure – I think it’s still undecided – but I think they are leaning towards a 2022 release.”

Horizon Zero Dawn was announced last year. Since then, however, Sony has not stated a concrete release date for the game, but Guerrilla has previously announced that it is aiming for a release in 2021.

As for a new State of Play livestream, Grubb reports, “I’ve heard things, but I’m not sure yet. I’ve heard it’s coming in September. I think with that they’re saying, ‘here are other things we’re getting this fall. don’t worry,” but I think Forbidden West will be out in 2022.”

Sony and developer Guerrilla Games have not commented or confirmed any of the rumors. PlayStation Studios boss Hermen Hulst said last month that release dates may shift. “We have two really big story-driven games in development: Horizon Forbidden West and the next God of War. With Horizon we are on track to get out around the holidays. But that’s not certain yet – we’re working as hard as possible so we can confirm as soon as possible.”
