News | Skull and Bones trailers give a good idea of the game

Ubisoft released three trailers for their upcoming game Skull and Bones during the Ubisoft Forward last night.

For example, there is a gameplay trailer that shows all kinds of parts of the game, including customizing the player’s ship to holding naval battles.

There is also a trailer that goes deeper into the world of Skull and Bones, including an explanation of the setting. Finally, there is a video in which creative director Elisabeth Pellen goes into depth about the game.

Skull and Bones is out November 8 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, Google Stadia, and Amazon Luna. The game features cross play.

News | Skull and Bones will be shown on Thursday evening

This Thursday evening, Ubisoft will show more of the pirate game Skull and Bones during a livestream.

The company has announced that. This is done via a so-called Ubisoft Forward Spotlight that will be broadcast on YouTube and Twitch from 20:00 Dutch time. The livestream can be viewed below from that moment on. New gameplay of the game should be shown during the presentation.

There have been a lot of rumors about Skull and Bones lately. The game has now been given an age rating in various countries and insiders claim that the game will be released on November 8. That release date may be officially announced during the presentation.

A video leaked last April showing what players can expect from Skull and Bones. The video, which features footage from a closed beta, showed players with a pirate crew taking on various missions in an open game world and then engaging in large-scale naval battles. Online multiplayer is an important part of the experience.

Players are also responsible for their ship’s cargo and can customize their character’s appearance as they please. The motivation of the crew must be taken into account, animals can be hunted and the ship can be upgraded.

Earlier this year, Ubisoft announced during its quarterly results that Skull and Bones should be released before April 2023. The game has been in development for years and has not been shown to the outside world outside of the leaked video for several years. That will change with the upcoming presentation.

News | Details about Skull and Bones gameplay leaked

A recent Skull and Bones playtest has leaked more details about the gameplay of Ubisoft's pirate game.

Based on the Skull and Bones playtest, Exputer lists some details about the game. According to journalist Tom Henderson, Skull and Bones does not contain player-vs-player combat. He already reported in 2021 that that will be the case for land battles, but it now also appears that there will be no ship battles between players.

Henderson says that in the playtest, players can’t get off their ships at all, although they can collect materials like ore and wood and food. Players do this by looking at land from their ship and collecting the materials from a distance by clicking a button. The looting of settlements works in a similar way; players must fire cannons to weaken the settlement, then send NPCs at it.

In Skull and Bones, players start with a small boat, which they can upgrade by collecting all kinds of materials. Ships are categorized into five classes, including small and large. There seem to be three types of ships: Combat which do more damage, Cargo which have more space for materials)and Exploration (sailing faster).

The morale of the ship’s crew is crucial in Skull and Bones, as the NPCs must be kept happy. Players do this by providing necessities such as food and drink; if that doesn’t go well, a mutiny takes place.

Skull and Bones is set to release in April 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It is unknown what Ubisoft plans to change and/or add to the game.
