GSC Game World released a new trailer for Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl last night.

The gameplay trailer is called ‘Come to Me’ and includes gameplay footage as well as cutscene footage. The video can be viewed below. The first-person shooter once again takes players to the Zone, an area around the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant where radiation causes all kinds of mutations.

Stalker 2 will initially only appear on Xbox Series X and S, PC and Game Pass, as the game is a console exclusive on Xbox for three months. After that, the game can only be released on PS5, although that release has not yet been officially announced.

A release date is also not yet known; the game should be released sometime in 2023.


News | Stalker 2 Officially Confirmed for 2023, Game Intro Shown

It's official: Stalker 2 won't be released until 2023. Also, the intro scene of the game was shown during a Microsoft presentation last night.

Developer GSC Game Studio first showed real images of the situation in Ukraine, where the studio comes from. Those images showed various employees of the developer fighting in the war against Russia. Then followed the intro scene of the game. Both videos can be viewed below.

Stalker 2 will be released in 2023. That’s no big surprise; the game was previously postponed to December 8 – partly due to the situation in Ukraine. After the Games Showcase last Sunday, Microsoft also shared a list of games, on which Stalker 2 was already among the games that will be released in 2023.

Stalker 2 is due out on Xbox Series X and S and PC. The game will also appear on Game Pass upon release.


News | Stalker 2 development resumes

GSC Game World has resumed development of Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl after it was shut down due to the war in Ukraine. Development was put on the back burner due to the war in Ukraine.

Polish website GRYonline reports that a development studio employee reported on Discord that development has resumed.

GSC Game World is located in Kiev, Ukraine, and in March the studio announced that it would put development of the game on the back burner to focus on surviving and rescuing workers. Later it turned out that some of the developers had moved to the Czech capital Prague.

The release of Stalker 2 is known to be set for December 8, 2022 on Xbox Series X and S and PC, although that release date may no longer prove to be accurate.

There are five new screenshots of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl released.

The screenshots were shared by developer GSC Game World on the official Discord channel and can be viewed below.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will be released on February 28, 2022. At launch, the game will be console-exclusive for Xbox Series X and S. The game will also be released on PC. The game will also be available on Game Pass.

2007 saw the release of the acclaimed shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl and 2009 saw the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat. GSC Game World was due to start a new game in the series shortly after, but suddenly closed its doors. The studio’s developers then founded Vostok Games and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was cancelled. In 2020 it turned out that the long-awaited sequel is still in development.

In 2007, the acclaimed shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R .: Shadow of Chernobyl was released and in 2009, S.T.A.L.K.E.R .: Call of Pripyat was released. GSC Game World would start a new game in the series shortly afterwards, but suddenly closed its doors.

The studio’s developers then founded Vostok Games and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was canceled. Earlier this year, a first screenshot of the sequel suddenly appeared and the game turned out to be in development.

It has since been announced that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is due out sometime in 2021 and will be temporarily exclusive on PC and Xbox Series X and S.
