GSC Game World has resumed development of Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl after it was shut down due to the war in Ukraine. Development was put on the back burner due to the war in Ukraine.

Polish website GRYonline reports that a development studio employee reported on Discord that development has resumed.

GSC Game World is located in Kiev, Ukraine, and in March the studio announced that it would put development of the game on the back burner to focus on surviving and rescuing workers. Later it turned out that some of the developers had moved to the Czech capital Prague.

The release of Stalker 2 is known to be set for December 8, 2022 on Xbox Series X and S and PC, although that release date may no longer prove to be accurate.
