The expansion is completely free and is called The Vanishing. Lead character Dani travels to the Upside Down to find the missing wheeled dog Chorizo. The expansion aims to give players an experience based on survival horror. The Demogorgon and locations known from the Netflix series are also included.

It is the last free expansion for Far Cry 6 based on crossovers with other franchises. Previously, expansions based on Rambo and actor Danny Trejo were released. There are also paid expansions in which players play with the bad guys from Far Cry 3, 4 and 5.

Starting tomorrow, Far Cry 6 will also be playable for a weekend for free. The entire game can be played for free during this weekend, both alone and in co-op. People who purchase Far Cry 6 after that can take their progress with them. The game can be purchased for half the price for a limited time.

News | Danny Trejo Mission Added To Far Cry 6 Too Early

Far Cry 6 accidentally added a mission with actor Danny Trejo too early this week.

The mission ‘Dani & Danny vs Everybody’ was still in development and should not be released as downloadable content until December. However, an early version of the DLC was added to the game earlier this week. Below are images of the mission.

Ubisoft has released Title Update 2 for Far Cry 6, removing the mission. Furthermore, various bugs are eliminated and user-friendly additions are made. For example, it is now possible to skip the video at the beginning of the campaign. New daily and weekly challenges have also been added.

News | PETA Wants To See Cockfights removed from Far Cry 6

Animal rights group PETA would like to see Ubisoft take a cockfighting minigame from the recently released Far Cry 6.

The organization criticizes the minigame, in which players can optionally participate in a cockfight. The whole thing is presented as a fighting game.

“Incorporating a horrific blood sport like cockfighting into a Mortal Kombat-esque gameplay segment cannot be seen as innovative, as today’s society strongly disapproves of forced fights between animals to the death,” the organization said in a statement.

PETA has been making a lot of noise when it comes to how animal behavior is portrayed in games. For example, hunting animals in Far Cry games has also been touched upon before. Last year, PETA criticized Animal Crossing: New Horizons for allowing players to catch insects and fish and then display them in a museum.

Far Cry 6 will be released on PC and consoles on October 7. Ubisoft also showed the first gameplay of the shooter.

The game announced last year is set on the fictional tropical island of Yara. There, dictator Anton Castillo rules this island together with his son Diego.

Players control Yara resident Dani Rojas, who fights for freedom as a guerrilla fighter in the jungles, beaches and capital Esperanza. At the start of the game, you can determine the gender and appearance of the main character yourself.

The gameplay footage showed a wide variety of environments on the island, from jungles and beaches to villages and the capital. Players can use different weapons, which have been crafted with all kinds of objects by the guerrilla fighters. For example, a weapon has been made from old engine parts and you can even fire music records. There are also various backpacks with extra options. There is a backpack that serves as a flamethrower and a backpack that can be used to fire bombs.

Far Cry 6 is coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, Epic Games Store, Uplay, and Google Stadia on October 7.
