News | Twitch will be making several changes soon, such as Stories

Twitch announced several new features coming soon to the platform during the TwitchCon event in Paris. These features, including Stories, are designed to increase streamer visibility and reach.

Twitch has listed all the announcements via a blog post. Some of the features announced include making it easier for streamers to go live together, improved communication between moderators on the platform, and the ability for users to export videos from TikTok. In addition, Twitch wants to give streamers more control over the commercials that are played during their streams. They will soon be able to snooze (postpone) it temporarily or pull it forward so that, for example, important cutscenes are not interrupted by advertisements.

The two most notable additions are Stories and the Discovery Feed, which appear to be carried over from Instagram and TikTok respectively. Stories allow streamers to post short videos and images to their profiles that disappear after 24 hours. It allows streamers to reach their audience without having to be live in front of the camera. The Discovery Feed, on the other hand, is a separate feed that allows users to scroll through clips from different creators. This feature is very similar to TikTok and YouTube Shorts. Twitch hopes that users will discover new streamers through this Discovery Feed.
