News | Sony may be bringing PlayStation trophies to PC

The PlayStation Trophies that players can unlock while playing PlayStation games may also be coming to PC.

The website TrueTrophies scans trophy lists from PlayStation Network. Recently, a trophy list was discovered mentioning the platform ‘PSPC’. The list is not linked to a specific game and therefore appears to be a test.

According to many, this could possibly be a sign of the future. Sony may be internally testing the possibilities of bringing trophies to PC. The company is bringing more and more games to PC and in this way PC players could also unlock trophies. Either way, it hasn’t been officially confirmed at the time of writing.

News | Some classic games on PlayStation Plus will include Trophies

Some classic games, including Siphon Filter, are getting Trophies on the revamped PlayStation Plus.

Sony developer Bend Studio confirmed this on Twitter. They reported that Siphon Filter will at least contain Trophies when the game becomes available on the new PlayStation Plus. “And yes, you can also unlock Platinum.”

Trophys have been around since 2008 and many of the classic games coming to PS Plus have been released before. So it seems that Sony will equip various games with Trophys, although it is not yet known for which games outside Siphon Filter it will continue.

The updated service will be available in the Netherlands from June 22. Sony recently unveiled some of the PlayStation Plus lineup.

News | Earning Trophies on PlayStation 5 bring rewards

Trophies may earn rewards on PlayStation 5. GamesRadar noticed the new feature in the video about the UI that Sony released last week.

The video briefly shows two trophies for the game Destruction All-Stars. The Wreckognised Gold Trophy will earn a profile avatar, according to the UI, while the Bronze Rookie trophy will earn players a profile banner.

The ability to earn these customization items for trophies isn’t entirely new, though. You can earn themes and avatars in Persona 5 Royal and Bloodborne, among others. Previously, however, players always received an email from Sony when they unlocked a digital reward. With this new feature, the reward system seems to be getting a lot more streamlined.

The feature was not discussed in the video and it can of course still be adjusted or removed before the PlayStation 5 hits the shelves. It is also not clear whether this only applies to Sony’s own games, or whether more games can use the option.

News | Cyberpunk 2077 contains 45 trophies

CD Projekt Red shared a screenshot of the game in the PlayStation 4 trophy menu, showing that there are 45 trophies to be won in the game.

This is what CD Projekt Reds QA lead Łukasz Babiel did on Twitter. The individual trophies are not visible, but it is clear that there are 26 bronze trophies, while there are seventeen silver, one gold and one platinum. The achievement list for Xbox One and PC will likely be nearly the same.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on November 19 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia. Next-gen updates will be released at a later date, although the game will be playable immediately via backward compatibility on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
