News | New gameplay from The Thing remaster shown
Nightdive Studios has shared a gameplay trailer for the upcoming The Thing: Remastered online.
It was previously announced that the studio was working on a remaster of the game that was released on PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC in 2002. The game continues the story of the 1982 John Carpenter film of the same name, in which scientists discover an alien life form in Antarctica that can mimic the appearance of other life forms.
The remaster of the game will have improved graphics, textures and animations. The game can be displayed in 4K and 120 frames per second on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
Nightdive Studios specializes in releasing remasters and remakes of classic games. The studio has previously developed new versions of games such as System Shock, System Shock 2, Doom, Doom 2, Forsaken, The Turok Trilogy, Quake, Quake 2, and Shadow Man.
The Thing: Remastered will be released later this year on PC (via Steam and GOG), PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. An exact release date is not yet known at the time of writing.
