News | Sony shuts down outdated web version of PlayStation Store

Sony has quietly taken the old web version of the PlayStation Store offline.

The outdated web version of the PlayStation Store mainly sold games for the PlayStation 3, Vita and PSP, but has now been taken offline.

Last October, a renewed web store was launched by Sony, where games for the aforementioned platforms were no longer available. Until recently, however, the old version could still be used. However, the URL of the old store now sends visitors directly to the renewed webshop.

The PlayStation Store debuted in 2006 with the launch of the PlayStation 3. A similar variant appeared on the PlayStation Portable via a software update in 2008 and with the launch of the PlayStation Vita in 2011.
