News | Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened Remake Revealed

Frogwares has unveiled a remake of adventure game Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened.

It was previously announced that the studio is working on a remake of the game, but now a trailer has also been released.

The original game was released in 2008, but is now completely rebuilt in Unreal Engine 4. The game therefore features modern graphics and animations, as well as a more extensive story, various side missions and new game mechanics.

In Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, Holmes investigates a series of mysterious disappearances in Europe and the United States, which may in some way be related to the Lovecraft monster Cthulhu.

Frogwares has also launched a Kickstarter campaign for the game. The studio is located in Ukraine, which complicates development, requiring additional finances. The developer needs 70,000 euros to make the game, but this goal has already been achieved.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened is set to release sometime in 2023 on Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

News | Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One is out November 16

Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One will be available on November 16. The Xbox One and PS4 versions will be released a few weeks later

Developer Frogwares announced this. The game will then come to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG. The game is also in the works for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. On those platforms, the game will be released “a few weeks later” at the latest.

Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One is set in the young adult years of the famous detective. He must investigate a small tropical island town, assisted by a different John Watson than fans of the detective are used to. The game should also follow the structure of the most recent Sherlock Holmes games, thus providing an open game world to explore and investigate.
