News | Cyberpunk 2077 Expansion: Phantom Liberty Coming in 2023

During a Night City Wire, CD Projekt Red revealed the expansion Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty.

The expansion will be released next year for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S and PC – the previous generation of consoles will not be supported. Phantom Liberty expands “an existing district” of Night city and includes mostly new characters. Main character V and Johnny Silverhand, played by Keanu Reeves, also return.

Also, the free Edgerunners update for the game is live on all platforms. The update adds a wardrobe, new weapons, three new side missions, and cross-progress, among other things. Players can also unlock ‘stuff’ from the Netflix anime of the same name, which will be released on September 13.

The Edgerunners update is the latest for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, which will only receive minor updates. On the other platforms, the police system will be overhauled and vehicle combat will be added.

News | Second Night City Wire showcases more Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay

New footage from Cyberpunk 2077 has been shown in the new Night City Wire livestream from CD Projekt Red.

In addition to the gameplay, emphasis was also placed on the music in the game. The real existing punk band Refused takes on the role of Samurai and in the live stream band members tell how they experienced this. A new song has also been revealed, called A Like Supreme.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a massive action RPG where players explore a futuristic city called Night City. CD Projekt Red is best known for the acclaimed The Witcher games.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on November 19 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game will be playable on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X via backward compatibility when consoles launch – CD Projekt confirmed this once again during the livestream – but details of a next-gen update will follow later. As far as is known, this update will not be released until 2021.
