News | Screenshots of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater shown
Konami has released six screenshots of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.
The screenshots mainly show the environment of the game. The “faithful remake” of Metal Gear Solid 3 was announced yesterday at the PlayStation Showcase for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. A release date is not yet known. “A new generation of players and loyal fans can experience the origin story of the famous Big Boss and learn how his legend was formed.”
It has now also been announced via the Konami website that the original voice actors will return to the game. It is unclear whether they will re-record the game, or whether the original audio files will be used.
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is set in 1964, long before the other main installments in the Metal Gear series. In the game, players play as a FOX agent named Naked Snake to rescue Russian rocket scientist Nikolai Stephanovich Sokolov and sabotage a superweapon. Where other Metal Gear games mainly explore urban and industrial areas, in Snake Eater players enter a jungle. In addition to stealth, action and narrative elements, the game also contains survival elements. For example, animals can be hunted and players have to heal their wounds and fractures. A remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater has been rumored for quite some time now.
