News | Five New Horizon Forbidden West Screenshots Show Starting Area

Five new screenshots have been released of Horizon Forbidden West showing the game's opening area.

The screenshots were released by Game Informer, who have an exclusive feature around the game in their latest issue. The screenshots show an area called the Daunt, which lies to the east of Sundom. In this area, players mainly get to know the new gameplay of the game before heading to the ‘Forbidden West’ with main character Aloy.

One of the screenshots also shows a new robot, the Burrower. This ‘successor’ to the Watcher from Horizon Zero Dawn can dig underground tunnels and unexpectedly reappear above ground.

In Horizon Forbidden West, players like Aloy explore a new area on the west coast of the United States. The game includes a free climbing system and underwater worlds. Like the first game, the game is being developed by the Amsterdam based Guerrilla Games. Horizon Forbidden West will be available on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 from February 18, 2022.

News | Available job offer at Guerrilla Studios may hint to Horizon Zero Dawn 2

Previously, job vacancies seemed to confirm the arrival of Horizon Zero Dawn 2, but there is no longer any doubt about that.

The job offer in question opens with the following: “Within Guerrilla, we have four teams dedicated to creating the beautiful landscapes of Horizon.” The vacancy requires a technical vegitation artist who will help create vegetation to world of the unnamed game. Experience with creating vegetation is also very important for an open world.

Another vacancy requires a principal animator for living world, this employee will work on cities, villages, cultures and societies.

Earlier there was hinted at the sequel to the wildly popular game Horizon Zero Dawn. “Wait until you see the sequel,” said actress Janina Gavanker during a Twitch stream earlier this year. Although this offer does not specifically mention “Horizon Zero Dawn 2”, it is strongly hinted at.

The first game has sold millions of copies within a short time and has won a Golden Calf, many fans of the game are looking forward to a sequel.

If Horizon Zero Dawn 2 comes out, it’s probably for the next generation of consoles. The PlayStation 5 is planned for the end of next year and since nothing has been announced so far about a continuation of Horizon Zero Dawn, there is little chance that the game will be released for the current generation.
