News | Grounded will be released in full on September 27th

The full version of the action-survival game Grounded will be available on September 27.

This has been announced by director Adam Brennecke of Obsidian. It was already known that the game would go out of Early Access in September, but now the exact release date has also been revealed. The final version introduces a campaign that can be played alone or in co-op, as well as new weapons and recipes.

The latest update for the Early Access version was also released yesterday, bringing all sorts of changes to the game’s upgrade system. There is also a secret feature in the update called Homestretch – at another time this mysterious new feature will go into effect.

Players in Grounded are a miniscule version of a human and walk through an enlarged version of a garden. There is also a walk through dark caves. Giant ants and other pests attack the player. Players can build complete buildings and collect materials. Grounded is available on PC and Xbox consoles.

News | Free content update for Grounded coming

A major, free content update for Grounded will be released on October 20.

The update, called Hot and Hazy, adds a large Crab Sandbox area, among other things. This toy sandbox contains many buried treasures, but at the same time is dangerous for players. For example, care should be taken to stay in the shade enough – walking in direct sunlight for a long time is harmful.

Other new areas include a picnic table and a large pile of trash. The update also includes a new anthill with black ants, which can be traversed as a dungeon, as well as an upgrade to The Haze, where players will now encounter new enemies and fungi.

Hot and Hazy also adds a new upgrade system for stats and weapons. Players can collect so-called Milk Molars and give them to their robot friend BURG.L to improve their personal or party stats. Weapons can be customized with different candies. Player gear will be categorized as light, medium, and heavy after the update.

Grounded was released in July 2020 and is developed by Obsidian who are best known for its RPGs such as Outer Worlds and Fallout: New Vegas. The multiplayer game lets players control shriveled children exploring their yard. In addition to multiplayer action, crafting is an important part of the game. Grounded is available on PC, Xbox Series X and S, and Xbox One. The game is also on Game Pass.

News | Trophies found for Grounded mode in The Last of Us: Part 2

Trophies for a Grounded mode have been added to The Last of Us: Part 2.

This was found out at PowerPyx. Two new Trophies have recently been added to the game, one for completing the game in Grounded, and one for using a permadeath option.

It seems likely that developer Naughty Dog will be adding Grounded mode to the game soon. In the first The Last of Us, Grounded mode was the game’s most challenging difficulty setting. Players quickly die and can find very few items.

For now, Naughty Dog hasn’t officially announced Grounded mode for the sequel. The Last of Us: Part 2 is now available for PlayStation 4.
