News | The Day Before studio closes doors, sales of game stopped
Fntastic, the developer of the controversial game The Day Before, has closed its doors. The game has also been removed from sale.
The Day Before was released on December 7 after several delays, and four days later Fnastic announced that the studio was closing. “Unfortunately, The Day Before has failed financially and we no longer have any money to continue operating. Everything we have earned will be used to pay off our debts to partners.”
The company continues: “We put all our effort, resources and hours into developing The Day Before, which was our first major game. We would have loved to release new patches to reveal the game’s full potential, but unfortunately we cannot don’t pay that.” As far as we know, the game’s servers will remain live for now.

The Day Before was surrounded by controversy before its release. Many gamers feared that it was a scam by developer Fntastic, and the game was postponed several times – partly because there were problems with the rights surrounding the name of the game.
Last Thursday, The Day Before was released on Steam, but soon the player reviews were “overwhelmingly negative”. SteamDB also shows that the number of players dropped quickly after release day.
Players reported many bugs and a lack of features. It turned out that it was not an open-world MMO at all, as the developer indicated in advance, but rather an extraction-like shooter. Furthermore, there were all kinds of bizarre advertisements in the game and almost the entire game world seemed to be built from ready-made Unreal Engine assets.
News | New footage from zombie MMO The Day Before shown
Fntastic has released new gameplay footage of the mmo The Day Before.
The images show a cross-section of the gameplay that The Day Before consists of and are reminiscent of games such as The Division and The Last of Us. For example, you can see how players search abandoned houses for items, can modify weapons on a workbench and run into zombies.
Recently, The Day Before was postponed again, this time to November 10th. According to the developer, this was due to a trademark issue. Many gamers are convinced that the game is a scam. The developer also receives a lot of criticism because it would have used unpaid volunteers for the development. Fntastic recently announced that the game really exists.
The Day Before revolves around survival in a post-apocalyptic America ravaged by flesh-eating infected and survivors who kill each other for food and weapons. Players must work together – or compete against each other – to survive. Investigating abandoned houses, skyscrapers and cars is an important part of that.
The game is set to release on PC on November 10, and on PS5 and Xbox Series at a later date.
News | Survival game The Day Before postponed to March 1, 2023
The MMO survival game The Day Before has been postponed to March 1, 2023. The game was actually scheduled to release on June 21
The game was first planned for a release on June 21 this year, but that is no longer feasible, publisher MyTona and developer Fntastic say. This is mainly due to the switch to Unreal Engine 5.
The Day Before was announced early last year and is being developed by Fnastic, also known for Radiant One and The Wild Eight. The game revolves around survival in a post-apocalyptic America ravaged by flesh-eating infected and survivors killing each other for food and weapons. The game will be released on Steam. Versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S are also being worked on. It is not known when the console versions will be released.
