News | Bethesda reveals new Fallout 76 content for 2022

Bethesda has unveiled a roadmap for content coming to Fallout 76 this year.

In the spring, for example, Invaders From Beyond should be released, in which alien visitors may play a role. Test Your Metal will be released in the summer, full of new public events and challenges.

Expeditions: The Pitt will be released in the fall, apparently set in Pittsburgh from Fallout 3. Nuka-World on Tour will then appear in the winter, with new public events and a boss character. More details about the specific content players can expect will follow.

Fallout 76 was released in 2018. On and shortly after launch, the game came under fire for bugs and flawed gameplay, but Bethesda has continued to support and improve the game ever since. The multiplayer game is available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

News | Plans for Fallout 5 are there, but Starfield and TES6 take precedence

Bethesda Games Studios has plans for a Fallout 5, but the development of both Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6 comes first.

Todd Howard of Bethesda made this known in an extensive interview with IGN. “Fallout is really part of our DNA. We’ve worked with others in the past and I can’t say what’s going to happen. But we have a page that says what we’re going to do with Fallout 5.”

For now, however, fans should not expect the game. “If I could wave my hand (to release the game) I would. I wish we could work faster, but I can’t tell today when what will happen. All I can say is that we have the order of Starfield and then Elder Scrolls 6.”

Starfield is therefore the next game from Bethesda Game Studios to be released. That game is scheduled for release on November 11, 2022. “We’ve wanted to do something like Starfield for a long time and have it set in a new universe. If we didn’t do it now, then when?”

After Starfield, it’s The Elder Scrolls 6, the highly anticipated sequel to Skyrim. Howard also doesn’t think it’s ideal that it takes so long for the game to come out – after all, Skyrim came out in 2011. “Would you plan such a gap between Skyrim and the sequel? I can’t say that’s ideal. (…) Hopefully at The Elder Scrolls 6 we can say that the game was worth the wait.”

News | The Dog Who Played Dogmeat in Fallout 4 Has Died

Video game developer Joel Burgess has shared the sad news on Twitter that the dog who played Dogmeat in Fallout 4 has passed away.

In a few Tweets, former Fallout developer Joel Burgess explains how River, the dog who played Dogmeat, was chosen and how he was part of the team. For example, he indicates that she wanted Dogmeat to become more than just an extra weapon for the player, but also a real friend.

To make this a reality, River was regularly taken to the studio just to be with the staff so they would really get to know the dog. In addition, they not only used River’s appearance for the dog in Fallout 4, but also the behavior. Think of the way Dogmeat looks back when the player stays behind and then waits for you.

News | Canceled Fallout 2 sequel playable via mod in Fallout: New Vegas

A canceled sequel to Fallout 2 codenamed Van Buren is mod playable in Fallout: New Vegas.

Black Isle Studios was working on a sequel to Fallout 2 set in 2252. The game was set to take place in the Midwestern United States Commenwealth, spanning four states. Players would play an escaped convict who is being chased by robots.

The game was canceled in 2003. Since then, various stories about the game have appeared online, giving Van Buren a sort of mythical status among fans. Certain elements from the game have been incorporated into Fallout: New Vegas.

The group of modders try to recreate Van Buren as best they can in a New Vegas mod called Revelation Blues. “We remain as faithful as possible to the Van Buren story. In the future we want to add many more new features, the project is still a work in progress.”

After the mod was available to download via Nexus Mods for the past few days, the mod team has set the mod to hidden. They are currently working on a demo.

News | Fallout: The Frontier available again after a heavy launch

It is again possible to download the gigantic Fallout: New Vegas mod, The Frontier.

One of the greatest mods ever can be downloaded again after some time from certain mod websites. Fallout: The Frontier was launched January 15, and it was not without a struggle.

After the popularity of the gigantic mod caused several websites to crash, it quickly became clear that some additions were unacceptable. For example, one of the developers was accused of distributing sensitive content of a minor. Obviously these additions have been removed.

In addition, several developers have indicated that they no longer want to see their contribution in the game because they no longer want to have anything to do with the project.

The mod has been in development for about seven years and is the largest mod ever for a Fallout game. Players explore the frozen plains of Portland, Oregon, now part of the New California Republic and the Crusaders of Steel.

News | Fallout: New Vegas mod The Frontier released after seven years of development

Just before the weekend, the highly anticipated Fallout: New Vegas mod The Frontier was released.

The mod has been in development for about seven years and is the largest mod ever for a Fallout game. Players explore the frozen plains of Portland, Oregon, now part of the New California Republic and the Crusaders of Steel.

The new area should be about the size of a completely new game and even includes vehicles to drive into. There are also new characters with spoken voices and all kinds of new quests.

The launch of the mod did cause several problems. Due to the popularity of the mod, NexusMods was temporarily offline during the weekend, although the website and the specific page for the mod are now available again. The mod should also be released on Steam in the course of this week.

News | Fallout 76 now has wheelchairs as C.A.M.P. decoration

Bethesda added a wheelchair in Fallout 76 as a decoration for the C.A.M.P. after someone with a physical disability asked for it

Gamer Kelly asked the developer on Reddit if it was possible to get a wheelchair in Fallout 76, since she is also in a wheelchair in real life.

She emphasized that she does not mean that she actually wants to move around with a wheelchair in the game, but that she uses it as decoration in her C.A.M.P. would like to use. “I think a lot of other people would like that too, even if they create a hospital, for example.”

A few months after posting the message, the option to place a wheelchair as decoration was added to the game. “Thank you and excuse my tears,” said an emotional Leunen.
