News | Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 will be paid DLC

The previously announced Cyberpunk 2077 expansion Phantom Liberty will cost money.

CD Projekt Red’s global PR director, Radek Grabowski, has confirmed to GamesRadar. It was already known that the expansion is in the works, but it had not yet been confirmed to his comment that it will actually cost money.

A precise price hasn’t been announced, but he did mention that DLC from the developer is generally cheaper than a full-priced game. It is therefore likely that the price of Phantom Liberty will fall below that.

Phantom Liberty will be released next year for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S and PC,  the previous generation of consoles will not be supported. Phantom Liberty expands “an existing district” of Night city and includes mostly new characters. Main character V and Johnny Silverhand, played by Keanu Reeves, also return. It should be the only expansion for the game.
