The Game Awards 2022 will take place on December 8 with an audience for the first time since 2019.
Geoff Keighley announced this on Twitter. The Game Awards 2022 will take place on December 8 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Tickets for the event go on sale November 1.
Due to the corona measures, the presentation was produced completely remotely in 2020. Host Geoff Keighley chatted the announcements together from the studio, while live orchestra performances were streamed from London and Tokyo. Last year, only a limited number of invited guests attended the ceremony.

The event will take place in the state of California according to the corona rules. Visitors do not have to show a vaccination certificate or negative corona test. The organization calls on visitors who feel sick to stay at home.
Every year, during The Game Awards, prizes are awarded to released games. Game publications around the world contribute to the votes. Upcoming games are also regularly shown and new games revealed. It Takes Two won the game of the year award last year.
