News | More set photos from the Fallout television series online

More set photos from the Fallout television series have surfaced online.

The photos can be seen in the tweet below and show, among other things, a bomb shelter, Power Armor and an iconic blue Fallout suit. Earlier this month, set photos also leaked, showing the Super Duper Mart.

The television series based on Bethesda’s Fallout series was already announced in 2020 and is being made for Amazon. The series is co-created by Westworld creators Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan. Nolan, Christopher Nolan’s brother, was said to be directing at least one episode.

The cast members include at least Twin Peaks actor Kyle MacLachlan, Aaron Moten (Next), Xelia Mendes-Jones (Havoc) and Walter Goggins (Justified). Captain Marvel writer Geneva Robertson-Dworet and The Officer’s Graham Wagner will be the showrunners. Todd Howard is executive producer.

It is not yet known when the television series will be released, but production started in New York City in June.

News | Fallout series production starts this year

The production of the television series based on Fallout will start this year.

As reported by Deadline. In 2020 it was already announced that Amazon and Bethesda Game Studios would be working on a series around Fallout together with the makers of the HBO series Westworld, but now the project seems to be finally getting off the ground.

The series is made by Kilter Films, which is run by Jonathan Nolan (brother of Christopher Nolan) and Lisa Joy. The duo is also responsible for Westworld. According to Deadline, Jonathan Nolan will also direct the first episode of the Fallout series. Geneva Robertson-Dworet  and Graham Wagner  have been brought in as showrunners. As reported in 2020, Bethesda’s Todd Howard is an executive producer.

During the 2020 announcement, Nolan and Joy stated in a press release: “Fallout is one of the greatest game series ever. Each chapter of this incredibly fanciful story has cost us countless hours that we could have spent with friends and family. Excited to team up with Todd Howard and the other brilliant lunatics at Bethesda to bring this massive and darkly funny universe to life with Amazon Studios.”

News | Launch of Amazon mmo New World attracts many Steam players

Amazon Games' mmo New World launched yesterday and has attracted a large amount of players.

In the first 24 hours of launch, there were 707,230 concurrent players on the game at its busiest time, according to figures from SteamDB. It is currently the second most popular game on Steam after Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

New World came out in beta earlier this year and was able to attract many players back then. There were, however, reports of gamers who had broken graphics cards after playing the game, but this would be fixed shortly afterwards with a patch.

New World is Amazon Games’ first successful game. Amazon’s Lord of the Rings mmo was canceled and the multiplayer game Crucible was also removed after launch.

News | New World Open Beta Announced

An open beta of Amazon Games' New World was announced during Gamescom Opening Night Live.

It looks set to be Amazon Games’ first successful game as the current closed beta is popular on Steam. Amazon’s Lord of the Rings mmo was canceled and the multiplayer game Crucible was also removed after launch.

Despite the large player numbers, the New World beta did not run smoothly. Last month it was revealed that beta testers had broken video cards – especially the GeForce RTX 3090. This seemed to be due to too high frame rates being reached. Amazon said it has no indication that it is a widespread problem, but released a patch that locks the number of framerates per second.

The open beta is from September 9 to 12. The mmo will be released in full on September 28.

News | Amazon MMO New World postponed to the end of September

Amazon has again postponed their upcoming mmo New World, this time to September 28.

The game should have been released last year, then it was postponed to the spring of this year and then to August 31. So now the release date is September 28th. The postponement has been chosen because the recent beta has generated a lot of feedback. The developer wants to use that feedback to make final improvements to the game.

However, the beta was a success, at one point there were more than 200,000 simultaneous players on Steam. There were reports of broken video cards, in particular the GeForce RTX 3090, due to unlocked frame rates. In response, Amazon Games released a patch that locked the number of framerates per second. Still, the publisher claimed it wasn’t a widespread problem.

New World is a sandbox mmo set in a fictional seventeenth century American colony. Uniquely, the setting is inspired by what it really was like in North America at the time, but many of the legends and myths of that era are real in the game. Players can build their own civilization alone, but also together.
