Blizzard has unveiled the first animated short and trailer for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. The expansion will be released on October 27.
Shadowlands includes a new area called Exile’s Reach for beginners. In a new trailer Blizzard shows new images of the expansion.
Afterlifes is a hand-drawn animated series featuring short stories about the afterlife in the World of Warcraft universe. The first episode is titled Bastion, Exploring Other Episodes: Malraxxus, Ardenweald, and Revendreth leading up to World of Warcraft Shadowlands.

Netflix may be working on an animation series based on the Overwatch and Diablo franchises. Nick van Dyke, president of the film and television division of Activision-Blizzard, posted the projects on his LinkedIn account.
Nick van Dyke’s LinkedIn profile states that he is responsible for adapting Activision Blizzards intellectual property for film and TV. There is something remarkable about his job as executive producer of Skylanders Academy. “Executive producer of Diablo, a TV adaptation of Blizzard Entertainments intellectual property, rendered in anime style.” According to his profile, the show is currently in preproduction and the show will air on Netflix.
There is also a striking game title in the description, namely Overwatch. The work description states that a series based on Blizzards Overwatch has already been developed and sold. This paragraph does not specifically describe that the series is coming to Netflix.
Netflix and Blizzard themselves have not yet confirmed either of these two animated series, so whether and when the series will be released is questionable.
