News | The endgame content from Diablo 4 highlighted

Blizzard has released a developer diary for Diablo 4 detailing the endgame content in the game.

Blizzard wants to let players decide for themselves how they progress in the endgame. After completing the story, you will gain access to a Capstone Dungeon. By playing it, you unlock the next world tier. This raises one level, which makes the enemies stronger, but also yields bigger rewards. It is up to people themselves whether they want to do this.

In addition to the normal skill trees, one can also further develop his character with the Paragon system. Here one can apply even more specific customization to the character and determine the direction of endgame upgrades. Related to that is the Codex of Power, where players can power up Aspects earned in dungeons. This makes items found in the game world more powerful in the form of Legendary items.

One can also return to previously completed dungeons and modify them with Sigil. That changes the style and intensity of a dungeon. Nightmare Dungeons are more challenging, have extra quests and contain mods called Affixes. As an example, the Hellgate Affix is given, which opens portals to hell in the dungeon from which monsters from other regions come. The game contains more than one hundred and twenty dungeons, and each dungeon can turn into a Nightmare Dungeon.

There is also plenty to experience in the overarching world of Diablo 4 during the endgame. For example, areas called Helltides appear, in which monsters are more difficult to defeat and new environmental effects occur, for example the falling of meteorites. Through a location called the Tree of Whispers, one can hunt various monsters for bounties. This can be performed alone or with other players.

Diablo 4 is out on June 6 on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, and Xbox One. An Xbox Series bundle will also be available. A beta was recently held.

News | Overwatch 2 players receive free items and double XP

Blizzard is giving away free items and periods of double XP to Overwatch 2 players to apologize for the unstable servers since release.

Since Overwatch 2 came out last week, the game has suffered from multiple DDoS attacks, making the game unplayable at times. Various bugs have also surfaced – including those related to selecting certain characters and buying skins automatically.

To accommodate players, everyone will receive a Cursed Captain Reaper Legendary Skin, a Health Pack Weapon Charm and multiple double XP weekends, Blizzard has announced. When these weekends will be held, will be communicated shortly.

Blizzard says that the game is now almost stable, and that it continues to investigate and solve possible problems. Sometime later this week, another patch should be released that makes the game more stable.

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic will be available on September 26.

Blizzard has officially announced this. The expansion to World of Warcraft Classic is free for all people who have a World of Warcraft subscription. The release date leaked out recently and now it appears to be correct.

Last April, Blizzard announced Wrath of the Lich King Classic. It should be an authentic experience for players who have played the original, as well as a fantastic adventure for newcomers, according to producer Holly Longdale.

The expansion adds two new areas to the cold Northrend, in the form of Howling Fjord and Borean Tundra. The Death Knight class is also added. The experience should be almost the same as the release of the original expansion for World of Warcraft from 2008. What is different is that mission icons are not visible on the playing card from release and that the dungeon finder is replaced by the group finder.

News | Blizzard stops making new content for Heroes of the Storm

Blizzard will no longer develop new content for Heroes of the Storm. The game will continue to receive bug fixes.

The company made the announcement in a blog post. However, the game must continue to be supported with bug fixes. Also, heroes and seasons continue to alternate. The in-game store will also remain active, although no new content will be added.

To thank players who have stuck with them all these years, everyone will receive a mount in the form of the Epic Arcane Lizard next week.

The moba Heroes of the Storm came out in 2015. Former Blizzard director Mike Morhaime already said in 2019 that the company was struggling to make the game really popular, because the game would have been released too late to profit from the popularity of the moba. In 2018, the team behind the game was reduced in size and official tournaments were canceled a year later.
