Santa Monica Studio is working on a free expansion for God of War Ragnarök called Valhalla.

This was announced during The Game Awards last night. This is a new roguelike mode that will be available on December 12 for all owners of the game on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

“Join Kratos to Valhalla for a deeply personal and reflective journey into a future he never envisioned. Overcome challenges of mind and body on an adventure that brings the beloved combat from God of War Ragnarök with completely new elements inspired by roguelike genre.”

On PlayStation Blog, the developer indicates that the DLC will be released for free to thank players. “Each attempt in Valhalla motivates you to learn different aspects of Kratos’ arsenal, while encountering new combinations of enemies and a few surprises.”

There were already rumors earlier this year that DLC for God of War Ragnarök was in the works. However, it was then reported that the DLC would not be released until next year, but this turns out to be incorrect.
