Private Division and Weta Workshop are working on Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game.

That was revealed earlier this week. Last year, Private Division – a publishing label of Take-Two – and Weta Workshop – the New Zealand company behind the special effects in The Lord of the Ring films and series and The Hobbit films – announced a collaboration. So now it is clear which game will result from that.

In any case, the first teaser trailer doesn’t show anything of the game itself, but according to the makers, gamers can expect a “heartwarming, new The Lord of the Rings game”. Given the name and the attractive artwork, the game seems to focus mainly on the Shire, the home of the Hobbits. The game should be released on “console” and PC in 2024.
