Grand Theft Auto 6's internal project name is likely "Fireball," according to an actor's resume.

Actor Reggie Talley, known for series such as The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Powerbook 3: Raising Kanan, has a Rockstar game on his resume that goes by the name of ‘Fireball’ for now – though the real name has yet to be revealed. It is speculated that it is a project name for Grand Theft Auto 6.

Rumors have been circulating for some time about the possibility of Grand Theft Auto 6 being set in Vice City and beyond – rumors that now seem all but confirmed by leaked footage of an early version of the game – and it’s likely that the name ‘Fireball’ is based on the logo of the real Miami Heat basketball team, which shows a ball with flames going through a basketball hoop.

It is also not the first time that the project name has popped up. Actress Natonia Monet previously had a character named Tamara on her resume for a game called Fireball. She removed this from her resume a day after it was discovered.

Either way, it’s clear that Rockstar has been working on Grand Theft Auto 6 for quite some time. The images leaked last year not only seemed to confirm that the game takes place in the GTA version of Miami and the surrounding area, but also that the game contains both a male and female main character.

A release date for GTA 6 has not yet been announced, but Take-Two Interactive said last May that it will release several “groundbreaking games” in the next fiscal year and generate a lot of revenue from them – leading to speculation that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be a of those games. In fiscal year 2025 – which runs from April 2024 through March 2025 – the publisher and owner of GTA developer Rockstar plans to release “several groundbreaking games”. That should generate an estimated $8 billion in revenue, a significant increase from $5.3 billion last fiscal year.
