Steamforged Games has announced that Gears of War: The Card Game will be released this year.

Other details are still missing – it is also not yet known what the rules of the game will be. However, there are a number of pictures of some cards in the game on the Boardgamegeek page.

The card game based on Gears of War was announced several years ago, but for the first time in ages something is being reported about the upcoming product.

The Gears franchise has been around for quite some time, but with the exception of Gears Tactics, it’s been a while since a new game in the series has been released. There have been rumors for quite some time about a possible collection similar to Halo: The Master Chief Collection, but its existence has not yet been confirmed.
