The nominations for The Game Awards 2022 were announced yesterday.
The various nominations have been chosen by more than a hundred media publications and influencers, including the editors of Gamer.nl and sister site Power Unlimited.
It is striking that God of War Ragnarök has the best chance of winning an award with ten nominations. Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West have each been nominated seven times, and Stray has six nominations to his name.
Below are the nominees for the game of the year award:
- A Plague Tale: Requiem (Asobo Studio / Focus Entertainment)
- Elden Ring (From Software / Bandai Namco Entertainment)
- God of War Ragnarök (Santa Monica Studio / Sony Interactive Entertainment)
- Horizon Forbidden West (Guerrilla Games / Sony Interactive Entertainment)
- Stray (BlueTwelve Studio / Annapurna Interactive)
- Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (Monolith Soft / Nintendo)

On the official website you can view all other awards and their nominations, and you can also vote for the nominees. You can vote until 7 December.
Hosted and hosted by Geoff Keighley, the awards ceremony will take place December 8 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. As usual, you can watch it live via a stream, which also shows all kinds of upcoming games, according to Keighley more than fifty pieces.
