Final Fantasy 16 will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive for six months.

Sony confirms this in a short video about the DualSense Edge. A short clip of Final Fantasy 16 is shown in that trailer. It can be read that the game is exclusive to the PlayStation 5 for six months. After those six months, the game can also be released on PC. It is not yet clear whether the game will also come to Xbox.

Sony PlayStation and Square Enix had a similar deal for the Final Fantasy 7 remake. That game was released on April 10, 2020 on PlayStation 4 and on June 17, 2022 on PC. The game may also come to Xbox, but that hasn’t happened to date.

According to producer Naoki Yoshida, the development of Final Fantasy 16 is in its final stages. The team focuses on polishing and optimizing the game. More news will be revealed through interviews in the coming weeks.

Final Fantasy 16 will be released on PlayStation 5 in the summer of 2023.
