Sony has released a trailer showcasing the PlayStation VR2 and upcoming games for the VR helmet.

In the trailer, the techniques that are in the virtual reality helmet are highlighted, such as a 4k HDR screen, eye tracking and foveated rendering. The corresponding controllers are also shown again.
Also featured are several upcoming PS VR2 games, such as Firewall Ultra, No Man’s Sky, Horizon: Call of the Mountain and Resident Evil Village.
Over the years, Sony has revealed details surrounding the PlayStation VR2 at various times, which are discussed again in the trailer below. For example, the OLED screen of the glasses is 4000 by 2040 pixels (2000 by 2040 per eye) and the field of view is 110 degrees. Furthermore, PlayStation VR2 has inside-out tracking, so that a separate camera is not necessary. Thanks to four cameras in the device itself, there is no need for colored LEDs on the device to keep track of where the player is. These cameras also follow the new controllers. Finally, the helmet with cameras tracks players’ eyes, allowing players to use their eyes to control the camera.
PlayStation VR2 should be released sometime early next year and can be used with the PlayStation 5. Sony previously announced that more than twenty games should be available on release. It is also known that the vr helmet will not be backward compatible with games that appeared on the first PS VR.
