The release date of Metal: Hellsinger has been announced: the game will be released on September 15th. A free demo is now available.

Publisher Funcom and developer The Outsiders announced this tonight during the Summer Game Fest Kick Off Live show. The game was already postponed to this year last year.

Metal: Hellsinger offers classic first person shooter gameplay with a unique aspect: shooting demons to the beat of the metal music can earn more points. The game features exclusive vocals from several metal singers, including Matt Heafy of Trivium, Björn Strid of Soilwork, Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy, Serj Tankian of System of a Down and Mikael Stanne of Dark Tranquility.

The story of The Outsiders is explained in the game by Troy Baker, known for games such as The Last of Us and God of War. Players control The Unknown, a hybrid between a human and a demon who fights his way through hell with a variety of weapons. The game’s director is David Goldfarb, known for games such as Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Payday 2.

Metal: Hellsinger releases on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S on September 15. A demo is available now on all these systems.
