Warner Bros. Games has showcased new gameplay from the upcoming Gotham Knights. The company has also announced that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game have been canceled.

The nearly fourteen-minute video features gameplay from Nightwing and Red Hood, two of the game’s four playable characters. It can be seen that Nightwing uses a glider and Red Hood can make big jumps. Director Geoff Ellenor, meanwhile, tells more about the game.

There are also quite a few battles shown. Also on display is the Belfry, a secret home base from which players can select missions via the Batcomputer. That way players can make progress.

While a recent mention on PSN suggested that the game can be played with four players in co-op, there is no mention of that in this video – so for now the game only appears to be playable for two players.

Finally, it has been announced that Gotham Knights will no longer be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game was originally supposed to appear on that, but that’s not happening now. Warner Bros. Games says this will ensure “players get the best gameplay experience possible”.

In Gotham Knights, players take on the role of the two above characters, Robin and Batgirl, shortly after the death of an important figure in Gotham. The game should have a “dynamic and interactive” open world that will house famous villains such as the Court of Owls.

The game is being developed by Warner Bros. Games Montreal, led by creative director Patrick Redding, who previously directed Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Splinter Cell: Conviction.

Gotham Knights is out October 25 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S.
