It is known who will write the script of the upcoming Ghost of Tsushima film adaptation: Takashi Doscher.
As stated by Deadline. Doscher has previously written the script for the sci-fi film Only, the thriller Still and the documentary A Fighting Chance. According to Deadline, the film is still an early production and specific details are not forthcoming.
Early last year it was announced that Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions are working on a film based on Ghost of Tsushima. The director is Chad Stahelski, who also directed the John Wick films. Sucker Punch, the game’s developer, is helping.
Ghost of Tsushima will be released in 2020 on PlayStation 4 and in 2021 on PlayStation 5 and see players as samurai Jin liberate Japan’s Tsushima Islands from a Mongol invasion. The game has been praised for its interesting open world, colorful graphics and odes to the samurai movies. It’s likely that Sucker Punch is working on a sequel to the game.
