Crytek has announced that it is working on Crysis 4.

The developer first posted a short teaser and then also published an article on its official website. In it, CEO Avni Yerli says that a fourth part in the shooter series is being worked on. “It’s finally time to confirm: yes, the next Crysis game is coming.”

According to Yerli, the game is still in an early stage of development. “But we wanted to bring you the news in time as we are very excited about the future and want to let you know that we are listening to you.”

He continues: “Crysis is incredibly important to a lot of people: gamers love it and some people who work in the industry today do it because of the first game, so we want to make sure that the next part lives up to all your expectations.” Yerli says more details about the game will be shared as development progresses.

Created by the studio behind the original Far Cry, the first Crysis is known for being extremely advanced technically for its time. Many PCs therefore had trouble running the game optimally. Last year, the developer released Crysis Remastered Trilogy for PC and consoles, which bundled a remaster of the first volume with Crysis 2 and Crysis 3.
