Eidos Montréal has created an original rock album for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy.
The album is supposedly from Star-Lord, Peter Quill’s favorite band that he names himself after, and is called Space Rider. The music was actually created by senior audio director Steve Szczepkowski, sound designer Yohann Boudreault and senior creative director Jean-Francois Dugas.
The songs on the album can be played through the in-game jukebox. These are songs that “celebrate the rock and roll, dysfunctional traits of the Guardians family”.
In addition to the original soundtrack, there are also licensed tracks from bands such as Kiss, Iron Maiden, Rick Astley, Hot Chocolate and New Kids on the Block. Players can choose songs on the Star-Lord cassette player during battle to whip up the characters.
Guardians of the Galaxy takes place on different planets, which players visit with the Benatar. In between the action, the game presents various choices – sometimes in the form of dialogue options – that have consequences for the course of certain situations. The game will be released on October 26 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The Switch version runs on the cloud.
