Spider-Man is still supposed to come to Marvel's Avengers this year.
Senior game designer Scott Walters of Crystal Dynamics has informed Game Rant. Last year it was already announced that Spider-Man would come to the PlayStation version of Avengers sometime in early 2021, but after that the DLC was postponed indefinitely. It has been quiet for quite some time now around the addition of the character.
In the interview, Walters says that development of the character and associated content is still on track for release this year. “We’ve always planned to release Spider-Man for PlayStation owners in 2021. We’ll be announcing more later this year.”
Today, Black Panther and its accompanying content arrives in Marvel’s Avengers in the form of the free War for Wakanda update. Crystal Dynamics informs Game Informer that the villain Crossbones is also part of the expansion.
