Sony will close digital stores on PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita and PlayStation Portable this summer. Sources from The Gamer report this.
The PlayStation Store on the PlayStation 3 would both close on July 2, and the Vita on August 27. From that moment on it would no longer be possible to make digital purchases in the store.
It is still unclear whether it will continue to be possible to download purchased games and DLC again. Sony will probably give more clarity about this at the end of this month, when the official announcement is made, according to The Gamer.
The PlayStation Store debuted in 2006 with the launch of the PlayStation 3. A similar variant appeared on the PlayStation Portable via a software update in 2008 and with the launch of the PlayStation Vita in 2011.
