The Gamescom Opening Night Live show will be held on August 24 this year.

Presenter Geoff Keighley announced this via social media yesterday. Last year, the show, which kicked off the German game fair, was watched by about ten million people. Every year the show features new images of upcoming games, as well as completely new games announced.

More clarity has also been given about the Gamescom fair itself via a press release. For the time being, the fair will take place physically this year, but as a ‘hybrid’ event. This to take into account the corona virus. Fewer visitors can come to the fair, which this year mainly revolves around playing upcoming games. In addition, there are digital queues, so that people can come to the play session by appointment. There should also be more focus on online streams. Gamescom will be held from August 25-29 this year.
