Zenimax Media founder and CEO Robert A. Altman has passed away.

That was announced by Bethesda in a statement. Bethesda calls Altman a “true visionary, a friend and one who believes in the life force of people and the power of what they can achieve together. He was an extraordinary leader and an even better person.”

Before Altman helped found Zenimax Media, he was a lawyer. In addition, he was married to Wonder Woman actress Lynda Carter. Zenimax was founded in Rockville, Maryland in 1999.

Zenimax owns studios such as Bethesda Game Studios, id Software, Arkane Studios, ZeniMax Online Studios and MachineGames. Last year, Microsoft announced it was in the process of acquiring Zenimax for $ 7.5 billion.
