Netflix has unveiled the cast for the second season of The Witcher. Production has also started in the United Kingdom.

After previous rumors, Netflix confirms that Game of Thrones actor Kristofer Hivju makes his appearance as Nivelles. Three new witchers are also added to the cast: Yasen Atour as Coen, Thue Ersted Rasmussen as Eskel and Paul Bullion as Lambert.

Agnes Bjorn also appears as Vereena, Aisha Fabienne Ross as assistant Lydia van Breedevoort and Mecia Simson as sorceress Francesca Findabair in the second season. In addition to the newcomers, most of the cast from the first season returns.

A few key figures from the book Blood of the Elves, which takes season two as a guideline, are still missing. The spy Dijkstra and Geralt’s mentor Vesemir and sorceress Philippa Eilhart are missing.

The production of the series has since been resumed in the United Kingdom. Season 2 of The Witcher contains eight episodes and will appear on Netflix somewhere in 2021. In the meantime, animated film The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, which is probably about Vesemir, appears.
