Dragon Ball Master

Obtain all trophies.

Earn all trophies in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot to unlock platinum (DLC not required)

Helping Hand

Complete a sub story

Sub Stories are Side Quests in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. They are marked by a blue exclamation mark on the map.

You will come across them very frequently during the story. After the story you can still complete sub stories in free-roam, so nothing is missable.

It’s recommended doing them as you advance through the game because they give XP to make you stronger and unlock new Community Members for you. This makes tough battles a little easier. There are a lot more than 10 side quests so this shouldn’t be a problem.

To see how many you’ve done, go to Pause Menu > Story > Completed (scroll down to the blue icons).

Do-Gooder

Complete 10 sub stories.

The Voice in My Head

Receive a telepathic message from King Kai.

First you must advance the story past the Saiyan Saga. After the Saiyan Saga, King Kai will start sending you telepathic messages.

They are random comments he makes when you explore the world, usually when finding ores/crystals or collecting a lot of Z Orbs. This will likely be one of your last trophies. The reason being that it’s random when he makes these comments and there’s no way to track how many you have unless you write them down. By the time you are done with all other trophies you should have received nearly 20 telepathic messages.

Every few crystals you will get a message from King Kai congratulating you on your mining efforts. This is by far the fastest and most reliable way to get lots of telepathic messages from him. The more crystals the Mineral Deposit has the better.

Who Needs a Phone?

Receive 20 telepathic messages from King Kai.

Wish Maker

Summon Shenron from the Dragon Ball menu to make a wish.

Dragon Balls become available after finishing the Frieza Saga. Just advance through the story far enough and you’ll get a tutorial screen explaining how they work. You can look for them during intermissions or after the story in free-roam.

Once you have unlocked Dragon Balls, they will be marked on the world map for you with an orange ball icon.

There are 7 of them. It’s different for each player where they will be, but because they are marked they are easy to locate. On the world map it says which area contains a Dragon Ball. Travel there, then open the Area Map. Zoom in to make the icons easier to see and place a waypoint  on it. Then a golden beam will mark the spot.

After you found all 7 Dragon Balls, go to Pause Menu > Dragon Balls and make a wish. This summons the Dragon Shenron. Repeat a total of 10 times.

After each use there’s a cooldown period of 20 minutes in-game playtime. Then you will receive a popup that the Dragon Balls have respawned. They will show up in random locations. Collect them again and repeat until you have the trophy. You can still do this after the story in free-roam.

List of available wishes:

  • Fighting a story boss of your choice again
  • I want Z Orbs! – Get lots of Z Orbs of each color (Green, Red, Blue). They are used to unlock and level up Special Attacks.
  • I want to be Rich! – Get lots of money. Used to buy materials and other items from merchants marked on the map.
  • I want rare items! – Receive rare items that are difficult to acquire by normal means.

Getting Greedy

Summon Shenron 5 times from the Dragon Ball menu to make a wish.

Shenron’s Favorite

Summon Shenron 10 times from the Dragon Ball menu to make a wish.

Push It to the Limit

Complete 10 challenges at a Training Grounds location with any character.

Training Grounds are marked on the map with a green muscle icon .They look like blue fountains of light when you approach them.

Each challenge unlocks a new Super Attack for you. Complete 10 with any character. At the Training Grounds you can also see the requirements for unlocking more Challenges. It’s best to do this after the story. The reason is that you need to reach certain level milestones to unlock new moves. During the story you won’t have access to enough Training Ground Challenges. You also need some D Medals (you get 100+ from the story and Encyclopedia automatically) and you must also buy the Super Attack Upgrades (Pause Menu > Characters > scroll over character and press  to open Super Attack Skill Tree). When you bought all the skills leading to a new move and meet the level requirement, you will unlock the Training Ground challenge for it.

There’s Nothing Like a Home-Cooked Meal!

Make a full-course meal.

Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. After finishing the Saiyan Saga, the next main mission makes you cook a Full Course Meal.

Only the Finest

Make 5 full-course meals.

For this you must make 5 different (unique) full-course meals! Making the same one multiple times does not count for the trophy!

Full-course meals can only be cooked by Chi-Chi, found inside Goku’s House. You unlock full-course meals automatically after the first Saga (Saiyan Saga) as part of the story.

Each Full-course meals consists of 3 dishes. First you cook each individual dish (requires ingredients), then you combine them into a full course meal.

Talk to Chi-Chi > select Full-Course Meal > to select Ingredient (write down missing ingredients) > check with food merchant in Satan City if he sells it (all merchants have same inventory) > if it’s not purchasable click  on the world map to see where to find it. Ingredients are from fishing, from underwater pickups, and from trees marked on the map. You can also get lucky and get fully cooked dishes by destroying Enemy Bases marked on the map, but it’s not as reliable as going straight for the ingredients. Just collect anything you come across.

Because you must cook 5 different full-course meals, you must also get additional recipes. These are given by specific people around the world. They will have speech bubbles above their head mentioning the word “recipe”. Some recipes are also from Side Quests.

Medal Madness

Collect 10 D Medals.

D Medals are obtained in several ways:

  • Rewards for Main Story and Sub Story Quests (1 D Medal per Side Quest)
  • Found as glowing orbs in the open world. The world map shows how many there are per area, but you don’t actually need any of them to reach 100 total.
  • From the Z Encyclopedia. Open the Pause Menu and press  . Every few entries grant you some D Medals.

D Medals are used at the Training Grounds to unlock new combat moves for your characters and also for upgrading the Training Room to level 10.

Heavy Medal

Collect 100 D Medals.

The easiest option is to simply play through the story, then open the Encyclopedia. You will automatically get 100+ D Medals just from the story, so don’t even worry about it. No need to find them in the game world but pick up any you can find.

Newfound Power

Acquire a Super Attack or Mastery in the Super Attack Skill Tree.

uper Attacks are acquired by going to Pause Menu > Characters > scroll over a character and press Super Attack Skill Tree. This will open a menu where you can buy new skills. Each “field” you buy counts as 1 “Super Attack” or “Mastery” towards this trophy. Most of these are simply upgrades to Super Moves you already know.

Highly Skilled

Acquire 50 Super Attacks or Masteries in the Super Attack Skill Tree.

This is cumulative across all your characters! This means you can buy 25 across 4 different characters to make it 100 total. So simply buy 100 of those “fields” in the Super Attack Skill Trees across all your characters.

A Super Warrior Is Born

Acquire 100 Super Attacks or Masteries in the Super Attack Skill Tree.

Not Worth My Time

Get an instant victory on an enemy.

Around the open world you can see flying enemies. As you get close to them you’ll see a distance measurement in the sky and a little arrow next to your character pointing in their direction.

The way you get instant victories is by pressing  to fly faster and flying directly into these enemies in mid-air. This instantly kills them without having to engage in combat.

Can’t Touch This

Get 50 instant victories on enemies.

Get an instant victory 50 times. You can still do it after the story in free-roam.

This is the ideal way to do it:

  1. Go to Olive Village (East Ravine Area). Go to the south-east corner of that map above the ravine. Enemies tend to be below your level here and always respawn in the same place after a few seconds. See the video for location and demonstration.
  2. When there’s a distance measurement in the sky, press  to scan for the enemies. You will see a colored “cloud” when scanning. Only focus on blue clouds (means they are under your level). Stay away from yellow/red clouds, I found them to often go into combat instead of giving Instant Victories.
  3. Adjust your elevation level to be perfectly aligned with the blue enemy “cloud” (press  /  to fly up or down while scanning with  ).
  4. Fly forward and press  to speed up and hit the enemy cloud straight on. This should instantly defeat them without going into combat. You can use any character for this, but it should be your highest level character (I used Goku). Your level doesn’t matter. The hitbox is as wide as the cloud outline, which is the same for all enemy types (so small enemies have the same hitbox as big enemies).
  5. If you are being chased by other enemies (eye icon in sky, red indicator around your character), fly away to lose the enemy. Never attempt this while being chased. Always stop using the fast flying between enemies (they detect you from far away when you fly fast). Instead, hover slowly back and forth between enemy spawns until you see another distance indicator in the sky, adjust your height and repeat the process. Just fly back and forth at the same location and enemies will keep respawning.

Let the Building Begin!

Build a machine part.

During the Cell Saga you unlock Bulma in Capsula Corporation. This is story-related and you can return later (still after finishing the story).

After entering Capsule Corporation head down the corridor on the right and enter the first room. Inside you find Bulma.

Talk to her, select “R&D” and build one of the car parts. If you need Zeni, go collect all Dragon Balls and wish for money from Shenron or sell some of your stuff to merchants. If you need any parts, press  on the world map to see what parts can be found in each area. You can also add more people to your Development Community to make the building process cheaper.

Get out of My Head and Turn into My Car

Build a hovercar.

Talk to Bulma, select “R&D” and build the Hovercar. First you must build the parts for it (in the same menu as the hovercar press to switch to Machine Parts). If you need Zeni, go collect all Dragon Balls and wish for money from Shenron or sell your stuff to merchants. If you need any parts, press  on the world map to see what parts can be found in each area. You can also add more people to your Development Community to make the building process cheaper.

It’s advisable to make a manual save beforehand, then reload it to craft the Bipedal Robo Walker or just keep the money/materials to upgrade the Training Room instead. The vehicles aren’t required for any other trophies and don’t serve much purpose.

Robot Rider

Build a Bipedal Robo Walker.

Talk to Bulma, select “R&D” and build the Robo Walker. First you must build the parts for it (in the same menu as the Robo Walker press to switch to Machine Parts). If you need Zeni, go collect all Dragon Balls and wish for money from Shenron or sell your stuff to Shenron. If you need any parts, press  on the world map to see what parts can be found in each area. You can also add more people to your Development Community to make the building process cheaper.

It’s advisable to make a manual save beforehand, then reload it to keep the money/materials to upgrade the Training Room instead.

Tell Me More

Unlock an entry in the Z Encyclopedia.

Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed.

Thirsty for Knowledge

Unlock 200 entries in the Z Encyclopedia.

Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed.

You can find the Encyclopedia by opening the Pause Menu > press ,this feature is unlocked early in the Saiyan Saga.

Fountain of Knowledge

Unlock 400 entries in the Z Encyclopedia.

Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed.

There are 984 entries total, but you only need 400. This will happen automatically at some point in the Cell Saga (third Saga). You get around 700 entries automatically from the story, don’t even worry about it and enjoy a free gold trophy.

Turtle School Trainee

Complete a Turtle School training challenge and report to Master Roshi.

After finishing the story, return to Master Roshi in the area “Kame House”. Talk to him a few times. During the story you will have automatically completed more than 50 of his challenges. But to make the trophy unlock you still need to talk to Master Roshi a few times to get rewards from him. Don’t worry about this, the challenges complete naturally as you play.

Turtle School Master

Complete 20 Turtle School training challenges and report to Master Roshi.

Turtle School Legend

Complete 50 Turtle School training challenges and report to Master Roshi.

You can keep track of completed challenges under Pause Menu > Story > 2 x  to “Turtle School Training Manual” > scroll down to the Training Exercises to see their requirements. Scroll to the bottom of the list and the ones you completed will have a star on them.

The Power of Friendship

Use 10 Super Attack Assists.

Super Attack Assists can be used during battle when you have another party member on your team. During battle hold  and select the displayed button to make your friend use their Super Attack.

There is a cooldown on this ability. You need to wait for the Support Gauge to be charged, which happens automatically in combat.

Odds are you’ll get this trophy naturally during the story. If you don’t have it after the story, go add 2 people to your party and fight a few more enemies.

Z Combo Zealot

Perform 10 Z Combos.

Add two people to your party. During the story you won’t always have two people available. After the story it’s easier because you will have access to all characters.

During combat you can see round icons of your teammates on the right side of the screen. Around their icons is a ‘Support Gauge’. Use Team Assists to fill up that Support Gauge (press  + displayed button to trigger a Team Assist).

A Dark Omen

Defeat your first Villainous party.

illainous parties are unlocked during the Saiyan Saga (near the end of it). The very first Villainous party is story-related and cannot be missed.

They are groups of enemies that unlike normal enemies have a red glow around them. They are stronger than normal enemies. After you progress the story far enough to unlock them, they will start spawning all across the map.

On the world map you will see a red crown icon over areas that contain these enemies (it will also say “A Villainous Enemy Appeared!” on world map).

Check the map to see where exactly they are. They will always be inside red clouds. When you get close enough, the fight will start. Defeat 30 of these groups. Since there are multiple villainous groups per map this can be done fairly quickly. After the story it will be easier as they have fixed levels and you will be very strong by that point.

Evil All Around

Purging the Plague
